For over twenty years, Northern Biomedical Research has been the leader in surgical implants and targeted drug delivery of large and small molecules to the CNS, utilizing intracerebroventricular, intraparenchymal, intrathecal and epidural routes of administration. An on-site Philips 3.0T MRI unit allows NBR to conduct real time imaging, as well as longitudinal data collection using various modalities and specialized techniques such as fMRI, spectroscopy and DTI. Neurology Services at Northern Biomedical Research offers a wide array of services including study design, data collection and analysis, quality assurance, MRI, computer modeling, specialty surgical dosing procedures, full necropsy capabilities and generation of scientific study reports.
Ophthalmology Services at Northern Biomedical Research is an industry-leading provider of targeted-delivery studies for safety assessment of drugs, biologics, gene/cell therapies, and ocular devices in development to treat unmet medical needs within the field of ophthalmology. The service is directed by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist with >15 years of experience within the ocular toxicology industry. Routes of delivery include intravitreal, subretinal, suprachoroidal, intracameral, intracorneal, subconjunctival, sub-Tenon’s, topical, among others. In-life assessments include slit-lamp biomicroscopy, indirect ophthalmoscopy, rebound tonometry, electroretinography, wide-field color fundus imaging, confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy, and optical coherence tomography. For determination of test-article ocular biodistribution, specialized dissection techniques are available for collection of unique ocular tissue subsets including cornea, aqueous humor, iris, trabecular meshwork, Schlemm’s canal, lens, ciliary body, vitreous humor, retina, retinal pigment epithelium/choroid, sclera, and optic nerve.
Northern Biomedical Research is an industry-leading provider of targeted-delivery studies for assessment of the safety, efficacy, and biodistribution of small and large molecule drugs, biologics and gene therapies and medical devices in the field of cardiovascular disease. We work closely with your team to ensure efficient study design to maximize high-quality data generation and reporting. Routes of administration include intraventricular, intracoronary, direct injection via thoracotomy, intravascular and intra-arterial delivery. With advanced imaging equipment, experienced staff, and unparalleled surgical skills, NBR can help guide your program forward.
Northern Biomedical Research provides models for evaluating fracture healing, bone remodeling, spinal fusion, cartilage regeneration, dental implants and infection used in the assessment of devices, drugs, biologics and gene/cell therapies in the development to treat unmet medical needs in the field of orthopedics. Whether you’re looking to evaluate a permanent or resorbable fixation implant or a new scaffold or carrier for delivery of antibiotics or cells, we will work with your team to develop the model that works for you.
Northern Biomolecular Services implements a robust process of method development, validation or qualification, and tailored sample processing procedures to evaluate biodistribution, expression, and/or persistence of gene and cell therapy products. Staff at NBS bring over 50 years of combined experience in GLP contract research qPCR and RT-qPCR.
